Speakability provides Speech and Language therapy to children, adolescents and young adults.
Our Speech and Language Therapist Laura Unwin has a wide range of experience working with both children and adults. Laura works with clients who present with speech delay, language delay, speech-language disorders, Autism spectrum disorders, developmental delay, stuttering, phonological disorders, childhood apraxia of speech, Down syndrome, Cerebral palsy, articulation disorders, cleft palate and auditory processing disorder.
Speakability provides training workshops to early childhood settings focusing on: supporting children with communication difficulties, identifying communication difficulties and when to refer.

Laura Unwin
Laura Unwin graduated from University College London with a BSc Honours degree in Speech Sciences in 1993 and is a registered member of the New Zealand Speech-Language Therapists Association (NZSTA). Laura has over 20 years' experience working in both the public and private sectors. Until 2013 she worked in Auckland with Not Only Words and previously worked as a Specialist Speech-Language Therapist in Language Units in the U.K. providing therapy to children with complex speech-language impairments. Laura also worked for several years as a Specialised Speech and Language Therapist in the Birmingham Children's' Hospital Cleft Palate team, providing specialist therapy to children with speech disorders relating to cleft palate. Laura has also worked in the Cayman Islands supporting children with communication disorders in schools and has experience of mentoring junior therapists and of clinical teaching in the U.K. She is trained in P.E.C.S, Hanen and Lidcombe and has extensive experience of working with children on the Autism spectrum, particularly in schools; providing training to school staff and setting up social communication groups.
